The Centre for Liveable Cities (CLC) was established in June 2008 by the Ministry of National Development (MND) and the then-Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources (MEWR). As of July 2020, the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources (MEWR) has been renamed as the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment (MSE).
